Fantasia - Sublime vs. Pastoral Nature

There is a clear theme of pastoral vs. sublime nature in Fantasia.  At times this is more obvious, especially during the section we just watched, "The Pastoral Symphony."  Its interesting how for a good while everything is happy, there are all sorts of creatures dancing around and frolicking to the music.  They are throwing a huge party with an enormous barrel of wine, and then in a split second a massive black cloud zooms into the scene.  Immediately, the expressions on the creatures faces change and they run off to hide in the bushes to survive the thunderstorm.  This is important because it shows that the unicorns and centaurs don't have complete control and freedom.  At first it seems that their world is perfect and nothing could go wrong, but then BOOM!, they are at the mercy of the terrible forces of nature (portrayed by Zeus).  Also, earlier in Fantasia, we saw the terrible damage that the earthquakes and volcanos did to the dinosaurs.  The dinosaurs were ruled by nature and one minor change could destroy them.  To conclude, Fantasia shows us in an cartoon that there is a big difference between pastoral and sublime nature but in reality how closely related are they?
